Refugees from Ukraine – what can we do?

At the time of writing, more than 2.5 million people had fled the conflict in Ukraine to neighbouring countries (UNHCR) in what could become Europe's worst refugee crisis of the 21st century, and the worst since the Second World War.

The British government has now reconsidered its Ukrainian immigration policy in light of growing people bloc pressure. In addition to making the process less onerous for family members with passports, a new sponsored humanitarian refugee route is set to be announced.

Passiontide Concert

On Thursday 24th March at 7.30pm there will be a Passiontide Concert at the Church of the Holy Spirit (Narbonne Avenue, London SW4 9JU).

The programme includes choral singing, instrumental pieces and readings.

The concert is being held to raise funds for homeless shelter, Robes.

Entrance costs £10 which includes cheese and wine to enjoy during the performance.

A merry band of the more and less chorally talented emboldened by mince pies and mulled wine (with thanks to Sainsbury’s and John D. Wood) brought some tuneful cheer to the neighbourhood. Thanks to everyone who took part and donated.

What a cracker!

A great big festive “Thank you” to each and everyone who organised and attended this year’s Christmas Fair!

It was a huge success, drawing a large and enthusiastic crowd on what was a very chilly day.

The generosity of everyone from those who baked cakes and donated prizes to those who gave up their Saturday helped raise £3,000 to support our work with those in need including the Robes Winter Shelter.

Christmas Fair 2021

Holy Spirit Clapham will hold its Christmas Fair on Saturday 27th November from 12noon until 4pm.

There will be stalls selling locally hand-crafted goods, mulled wine and light refreshments.

There will be all manner of activities for children and a certain someone from the North Pole is rumoured to be paying a visit.

And all this with live seasonal music!
