In 2015, Hashtag Opera Co performed orchestrated performances of Verdi's Giovanna d'Arco and Bach's St Matthew Passion. In 2016, we are delighted to welcome them back on 19th March 2016 to present a concert performance of Donizetti's bel canto gem, Anna Bolena.  The opera loosely depicts the trials and tribulations of the final days of Henry VIII's second and most illustrious Queen, Anne Boleyn.

The opera features an international cast of emerging professional singers under the baton of Frederick Platt, with the Hashtag Opera Orchestra and Chorus.  American soprano Rochelle Hart reprises the title role, which she first performed in 2012. Rory Mulchrone takes on the role of King Henry VIII, with Heather Lupton as the love rival Jane Seymour, Anna-Louise Costello as musician Mark Smeaton, Austin Gunn as Lord Percy. Michael Doroszenko is the king’s henchman Hervey, and Robert-John Edwards performs the role of Anne’s brother Lord Rochefort.

Don't miss your chance to experience some of Donizetti’s most moving music, in Clapham for one night only! For further information and to purchase tickets see here.
