This Harvest we are supporting Christian Aid and the Ace of Clubs
Join in our South Sudanese Bake Off for Christian Aid - this year, our church will stand with communities like Alok, in South Sudan, that struggle to find enough to eat or a secure shelter for their families.
Holy Spirit Clapham - Christian Aid 2014
Join in the fun, bake and bring to church on Sunday October 12th, prizes for adults and children, best bakes and just taking part. Donate your bakes to our cake stall to raise funds for Christian Aid.
We have 2 categories:
Category 1
We ask you to bake goraasa, a traditional — and very simple — Sudanese flatbread.
Goraasa Recipe
Ingredients:
500g of wheat flour 1/2 tsp baking powder 500ml water tsp salt
Method:
Sift flour into bowl. Add baking powder and salt and stir in water until thick batter. Pour ladle-full of batter onto non-stick flat frying pan and flatten out until evenly spread. Fry at medium heat and flip when golden on one side.
Category 2
Bake something of your choice with a Christian Aid theme
Help to support our local charity, Ace of Clubs which is a family-like community providing transformative support for those who are homeless, vulnerable and otherwise marginalised in our area, based in St Alphonsus Road.
