Go on …. take up something new for Lent

People tend to think of Lent as a time to give things up but it is the ideal time to try something new.  Doing something just a little bit different for FIVE WEEKS in Spring can open up a whole new perspective on who we are and how we live.

This Lent we invite you to step outside of the everyday for one evening a week and see what where it takes you.  ALL WELCOME absolutely NO previous experience or knowledge needed.

Grab some peace and quiet.  Be Still and Know that I am God is a weekly meditation session which helps us to be at home with ourselves and be in present moment. One hour of complete stillness in your busy week.  7.30pm Every Wednesday in Lent on the Stage Room (through the church).

7.30pm on 12th March, 19th March, 26th March, 2nd April, 9 April

THURSDAY EVENINGS Discover who God is calling you to be.  Breath of God is a weekly study group which will be exploring who we are and how God is shaping and forming us.

Each week we will take one image and one short Bible text as our guide into the heart of God and out into community.  Evenings start promptly at 8.15pm to allow time for discussion and prayer and en around 9.30pm. Every Thursday in Lent* on the Stage Room (through the church).8.15pm on 13th March, 20th March, 27th March, 1st April (*Tuesday this week only), 10th April

The church will be open every Saturday in Lent from 12-2pm.  We shall be offering a simple soup lunch in support of our Lent charity.  There will a book stall to browse, people to chat with, or, if you’d rather, plenty of space for some quiet prayer and reflection.

Each year we make a pilgrimage around our sister churches in Clapham during Lent seeing what we can learn about God and life through one another. Each week a church from one tradition hosts and one from another tradition sends a visiting preacher. All services are at 6.30pm and all offer refreshments afterwards.  Holy Spirit will be hosting on 16th March.
